Psalm 54

3 For strangers have risen against me and violent men have sought my life; They have not set God before them. Selah

4 Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul.

Psalm 54:3&4

I have been many times in a place of struggle that I could not provide and answer for. I think many times that place where you have no answer is the very place you avoid in your life. The more I try to develop character that is based on God's kingdom the more I realize that many battles and times of adversity are actually times that you see the hand of the Lord move the strongest in absence of my strength. It is the wilderness battle that builds my ability to trust Him. And it's that trust in Him that enables me to steward the blessing in the promise land. The more I struggle in the fight. The more I need to remember that I am not the one who sustains my soul. He is. Even in the times you feel that something is directly trying to attack your life. You can know that the Lord is the one who sustains you. What is interesting is that David was not writing this out of a promise. He was writing this out of experience. He said Behold. Look. Can't you see? The Lord is the one who sustains me. Trust builds faith to face darkness that you have no answer for. Trust is the keeper of your soul next to God’s. It sustains your heart to pull on Jesus and not on fear. You really have two options. You can spend your whole life looking for strength in answers or spend one moment in trust with Jesus. The storm rages in both options but in only one do you walk on water.
